Department of Accounting and General Services hires its first Communications Officer, Diane Ako
The state Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS) has hired its first Communications Officer. Diane Ako, most recently of KITV4 (Hawaiʻi ABC affiliate), came on board in November. Ako brings 25 years of newscasting experience and four years of public relations background to this job. State Comptroller Keith Regan (formerly of Maui) leads DAGS.
Hirono, colleagues urge strong capital rules to protect Americans’ money
The senators voiced their support for the new capital rules proposed by the agencies in an effort to strengthen the financial system and protect Americans’ jobs, businesses and money. In the letter, the lawmakers cited that strong capital rules allow banks to continue to serve their communities during difficult financial periods.
Senate takes vote on key gubernatorial nominees
The Hawaiʻi state Senate took votes Friday on key gubernatorial nominees. Keith Regan (formerly of Maui) who was nominated as Comptroller for the Department of Accounting and General Services, received a unanimous vote for Senate confirmation.
