New RFPs issued for for 911 ground ambulance services on Kaua‘i and Maui
The Hawaiʻi Department of Health announced a Request for Proposals for Comprehensive Emergency Medical Services or EMS for 911 Ground Ambulance Transport in Maui and Kauaʻi Counties. The RFPs, from the Emergency Medical Services and Injury Prevention System Branch, replace those that were canceled on Oct. 23, 2023 after concerns were raised.
Council committee to discuss new procurement process for emergency-medical services
Councilmember Shane M. Sinenci announced that the Water Authority, Social Services and Parks Committee will receive a presentation from the state Department of Health Monday at 9 a.m. on the new procurement process for emergency-medical services in Maui County.

With fall-related injuries and fatalities among Hawai‘i seniors reaching troubling numbers, the Hawai‘i State Department of Health and the Hawai‘i Fall Prevention Consortium are collaborating on a fall prevention awareness campaign that runs Aug. 22 through Sept. 22.
