Three parks in Upcountry, Kahului and Kīhei to receive new playgrounds

Starting Jan. 22, 2026, the construction and installation of a new playground at Eddie Tam Memorial Center in Makawao will begin. Once grubbing and grading is completed, construction will start for playgrounds at Kahului Park in Central Maui and Hale Piʻilani Park in Kīhei. All construction is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2027.

Community input sought for proposed playground upgrades at three Maui parks

The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation invites the community to offer feedback on proposed playground improvements for three parks – South Maui’s Hale Pi‘ilani Park, Upcountry’s Eddie Tam Memorial Center and Central Maui’s Kahului Park.

Public feedback sought in three Maui County playground planning workshops

South Maui residents can participate in playground planning for Hale Piʻilani Park in the first of three community park planning feedback workshops beginning at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Kenolio Community Center in Kīhei.
