DPW pavement project Sept. 3-19 will impact portion of Olinda Road in Makawao
One lane will be open to alternating traffic on Olinda Road between Baldwin Avenue and Hanamu Road in Makawao due to pavement preservation work from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays Sept. 3-19, 2025, according to the County of Maui Department of Public Works Highways Division.
Water service outage on Olinda Rd. on Tuesday, Sept. 17
A water service outage affecting a portion of Olinda Road is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The outage will impact Olinda Road from Hanamu Road up, including Maluhia Place and Maka Place.

Downed Tree and Power Lines on Olinda Road
Maui police have closed a portion of Olinda Road in Makawao due to a downed tree and power lines. The closure went into effect at 8:45 a.m. and extends from Pookela Church to Hanamu Road. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and expect delays in their commute.
