Starting May 11, Inter-County Travelers Vaccinated in Hawaiʻi Can Skip COVID-19 Pre-Travel Testing
Gov. David Ige today signed the 20th proclamation on COVID-19 to allow inter-county travelers vaccinated in the State of Hawai‘i to bypass the pre-travel testing and/or quarantine requirement starting May 11.
HTA: Hawaiʻi Hotel Performance Report for March 2021
Maui County hotels reported better performance compared to last year and led the counties in March RevPAR of $228 (+18.7%), with ADR rising to $466 (+10.9%) and occupancy of 49.0 percent (+3.2 percentage points). Maui County’s March supply was 392,800 room nights (-0.3%). Maui’s luxury resort region of Wailea had RevPAR of $362 (+26.0%), with ADR at $802 (+27.2%) and occupancy of 45.2 percent (-0.5 percentage points). The Lahaina/Kāʻanapali/Kapalua region had RevPAR of $180 (+7.1%), ADR at $379 (+3.2%) and occupancy of 47.4 percent (+1.7 percentage points).
HTA Tracking Study: 78% Recommend Visiting Hawaiʻi Within Next Six Months
The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority released the results of a special tracking study, which surveyed visitors from the U.S. mainland who visited Hawaiʻi from Feb. 12 through Feb. 28, 2021 to gauge their experience with Hawaiʻi’s Safe Travels program and overall trip satisfaction.
Tourism Survey: 85% of Visitors Rated Trip Excellent Despite COVID-19 Challenges
The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority conducted an online survey of US mainland visitors to gauge their experience with Safe Travels program and found 85 percent rated their trip “Excellent.”
