Maui High Fires Under Investigation, Incendiary Devices Found
Two structure fires at Maui High School this morning appear to have been intentionally set. In the first fire, officials say the perpetrators tried to ignite a barrel of used motor oil with a piece of cardboard.

“The time of day the fireworks were lit in the Kaupō incident indicate that this fire may have not been accidental,” according to information attributed to the fire chief in information released by the department today.
Felony Investigation Launched into Suspicious Cane Fires on Maui
So far, eight suspicious fires have burned 42.5-acres and resulted in a combined loss of $182,500 in crop damage at Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company. Maui police have launched felony investigations into several of the fires on suspicion of felony First Degree Criminal Property Damage.
