MPD: Fourth of July weekend impaired driving enforcement announced

Starting Thursday and continuing through the Fourth of July weekend, the Maui Police Department’s Traffic Division will conduct sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols at various locations to address impaired driving.

PacWhale Eco-Adventures will host several Fourth of July cruises this year, allowing guests to drink, dine and view fireworks from the ocean.

No Firecracker Permits Issued on Maui for Fourth of July

Due to commercial vendors deciding not to sell firecrackers for this holiday, no permits are being issued for firecracker purchases on Maui for the upcoming Fourth of July holiday. 

Mid-Week 4th Keeps Number of Waikīkī Floatilla Revelers in Check

An estimated 500 to 600 ocean goers participated in the Independence Day floatilla off Waikīkī–that’s about half as many as counted in 2016 and 2017.

AAA Hawai‘i Offers Tipsy Tow Service For July 4th

The service is available from 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, until 6 a.m. Thursday, July 5 and is being offered in an effort to keep drinking drivers off the road.
