This December Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa will debut a first-of-its-kind holiday experience on Kāʻanapali Beach with The Elf on the Shelf, the beloved Christmas tradition featuring Santa’s official Scout Elves. From Dec. 14-25, 2025, families can enjoy festive programming highlighted by a playful daily hide-and-seek adventure with the resort’s very own Scout Elf.

Castle Resorts & Hotels has named Jim Hunsucker as resident manager of Castle Nāpili Surf Beach Resort. In this role, Hunsucker will oversee all aspects of hotel management for the Castle rental program and association management for Nāpili Puamala and Nāpili Surf.

The Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows is turning up the heat with its brand-new Summer Sunday BBQ Series, happening now through Aug. 10 along Kāʻanapali Beach.

The Pilikahakai Foundation, a nonprofit rooted in Native Hawaiian values and dedicated to preserving Kāʻanapali Beach, hosted its inaugural Reef-Friendly Landscaping Summit over the weekend, aimed at advancing sustainable land care practices that protect West Maui’s coastline.

Four people were injured when a commercial catamaran ran aground on Kāʻanapali Beach in West Maui on Tuesday evening. The incident was reported at 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2024. DLNR reports that the vessel was removed this morning with no release of any hazardous materials reported.
