In 2024 PUMA GOLF created a limited-edition Lahaina Maui golf cap with proceeds going directly to Lahainaluna High School through the Maui United Way, to help with community efforts from the tragic fires that ravaged the island one year ago. Last year’s Lahaina Maui Cap, which prominently featured the Lahaina “L,” on the front panel, raised almost $40,000 for LHS after selling out in quick order, so the folks at PUMA GOLF decided to do it again with a new design.

A number of special events marking one year after the Aug. 8, 2023, wildfires will pay tribute to the 102 victims and the two that remain missing. The events are designed to honor the resiliency of a community that has faced crisis and heartbreaking tragedy, and offer residents opportunities to gather in healing and shared support.
Students travel to Maui to share aloha for Lahaina through free performance, May 21
Nearly 150 fifth grade haumāna from Kamehameha School Kapālama will share their live stage production, “Ka Malu ʻUlu o Lele: The Shaded Breadfruit Grove of Lele,” with the Maui community. The one-of-a-kind show explores Lahaina’s rich history and serves as a tribute to the resilience of the community. No tickets are needed for the free performance taking place on Tuesday, May 21 at 4:30 p.m. at the Baldwin High School auditorium. The annual fifth grade play is a student-led project that started 31 years ago at the Kapālama campus.
2023 Native Hawaiian Convention kicks off today at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center
The 22nd Annual Native Hawaiian Convention gets underway today at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului, Maui. The four day event was moved to Maui this year to uplift the voices and people following the Aug. 8 wildfires.
MFD ADDS TWO NEW VEHICLES TO FLEET
