Nisei Veterans Memorial Center announces ‘The Nisei Experience in WWII’ Exhibit
The Nisei Veterans Memorial Center (NVMC) presents its upcoming exhibit, “The Nisei Experience in WWII,” curated by Shari Tamashiro, Cybrarian at UH Kapiʻolani Community College. This exhibition offers an in-depth exploration of the Nisei experience, from the years preceding the bombing of Pearl Harbor through the post-war era, shedding light on the resilience, sacrifice, and patriotism of second-generation Japanese Americans.

Documentary film, “Paper Chase” explores history of Japanese-American news media
“Paper Chase,” a documentary film that delves into the history of Japanese-American news media, will be screened on Sunday, Aug. 13, at the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center. Free showings are scheduled for 11 a.m. and at 2 p.m. at the center located at 665 Kahului Beach Road.
40 youth complete MEO summer program
