Flood Watch through this afternoon

The National Weather Service has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Maui until 10:30 a.m. At 7:16 a.m., radar showed heavy rain over east Maui. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. The heaviest rain is falling over the Kaupō area. Additional heavy showers are expected through the morning. Flash flooding is ongoing.

Upcountry, Maui enters Stage 3 water shortage; mandatory restrictions in place

The Maui Department of Water Supply on Friday announced a Stage 3 water shortage for consumers in the Upcountry Maui service area, requiring the implementation of mandatory and strict water conservation measures.

HECO to continue aerial inspections with drones in Upcountry Maui in April

Hawaiian Electric will continue to use unmanned aircraft, or drones, for aerial inspections of its infrastructure in various areas of Upcountry Maui on weekdays throughout the month of April, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting. The inspections will take place in parts of Olinda, Piʻiholo, Kula, Kēōkea and ʻUlupalakua.

The Kēōkea Homestead Association presents the Kēōkea Ho’olaule’a on Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kēōkea Marketplace at the corner of Kula Highway and Kaʻamana Street just past Grandma’s Coffee House.
