Housing coordinator Vanna Duarte, who is a steadfast supporter to Mauians struggling to stay in their homes, has been honored as Maui Economic Opportunity Employee of the Month.

Hirono announces more than $7.4M to help Hawaiʻi households with home energy costs

US Senator Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI), a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, announced that Hawaiʻi was awarded more than $7.4 million in funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). She said this funding will help individuals and families with low incomes in Hawaiʻi lower their home energy costs, such as their cooling bills in the summer.

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program applications period starts June 1

Electric customers in need may apply for a one-time credit to reduce their energy bills under LIHEAP–the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

Application Deadline Nears for Energy Credit Assistance, June 30

The deadline to apply for federally funded energy credit assistance aimed at low-income residents who are not in crisis but require help to pay their heating and cooling bills is 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30.
