#low relative humidity

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning from noon today through Saturday afternoon for mainly leeward areas due to windy conditions and low humidity.

The Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency (HIEMA) is alerting the public that the National Weather Service (NWS) in Honolulu is extending the Red Flag Warning for portions of the state through 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3 – based on current observations and model guidance. 

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect until 6 p.m. HST, Friday, and possibly into Saturday. The affected areas include leeward portions of all Hawaiian Islands and interior sections of the Big Island.

The National Weather Service has extended a Red Flag Warning for leeward areas of all island through Saturday afternoon. The warning remains in effect until 4 p.m. due to a combination of dry fuels, low relative humidity and strong trade winds. This mix poses a threat for critical fire weather.

Locally strong trade winds and low relative humidity will combine with dry fuels to bring critical fire weather conditions for leeward sections of the islands from late this morning through the afternoon.

A red flag warning has been extended through Wednesday afternoon for the leeward portions of all islands.  A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures prompted the warning.  Strong and gusty trades and a dry stable atmosphere are expected to persist into tomorrow.
