CNHA acquires Nā Mea Hawaiʻi to expand Native Hawaiian business ecosystem
The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement announced the acquisition of Nā Mea Hawaiʻi, a cultural retail institution that has served Hawai‘i for more than two decades. Nā Mea Hawaiʻi will be integrated into a larger suite of economic and entrepreneurial initiatives, including: KūHana Business Accelerator; and The Mākeke.
Lahaina Strong launches inaugural Mākeke: a gathering for healing, resources and resilience
Lahaina Strong, in partnership with Maui Behavioral Health Resources and hosted by Maui Land & Pine, welcomes the inaugural Lahaina Strong Mākeke, happening on Saturday, June 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at 1000 Kapalua Drive in West Maui.
Day 2 of Lahaina Festival features mākeke and entertainment by Kulāiwi and Kalani Peʻa
Day 2 of the Lahaina Festival takes place today (Nov. 25) with a pop-up mākeke featuring dozens of vendors from 3 to 9 p.m.; and entertainment tonight with Kulāiwi at 6 p.m., and Kalani Pe‘a featuring Hālau Ke‘alakahinano o Puna at 7 p.m. The event is presented by the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, in partnership with the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority and the Hawai‘i Community Foundation at the Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows. The celebration of music, culture, and community supports Maui’s resilient spirit and coincides with the Maui Invitational college basketball tournament.
