The annual Nā Kamehameha Commemorative Pāʻū Parade and Hōʻolauleʻa returned to Central Maui on Saturday, June 21, 2025, with a vibrant celebration honoring aliʻi, culture and community. The celebration began with a parade that made its way down Kaʻahumanu Avenue from Mahalani Street to Kahului Beach Road, drawing crowds of spectators waving flags and lei.

Nā Kamehameha Commemorative Pāʻū Parade and Hōʻolauleʻa Committee announced Clifford Naeʻole as the Grand Parade Marshal for the 2025 celebration, set to take place on Saturday, June 21, along Kaʻahumanu Avenue in Kahului beginning at 9:45 a.m.

Kahiko night at the Merrie Monarch Festival featured hula in the ancient style with 27 groups performing Friday night in the annual competition in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. The festival continues tonight with ʻauana or modern hula, followed by results from the 62nd event.

The 2025 Nā Kamehameha Commemorative Pā‘ū Parade and Ho‘olaule‘a is set for Saturday, June 21, 2025, and invites the community to take part in the annual celebration. The festivities return to Central Maui, with a parade along Ka‘ahumanu Avenue followed by a ho‘olaule‘a at Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center.

Specific Native Hawaiian women spotlighted in the resolution included: Queen Ka‘ahumanu, Isabella Kauakea Yau Yung Aiona Abbott, Mary Kawena Pukui, Edith Kenao Kanaka‘ole, Rell Kapolioka‘ehukai Sunn, and Emma Ka‘ilikapuolono Metcalf Beckley Nakuina.
