Historic return of Maui County Fair draws 30,000 fair entrants on opening night
An estimate 30,000 people attended the 98th Maui County Fair on Thursday’s opening day, according to fair organizers. The historic return of the Maui County Fair kicked off festivities with the traditional parade up Kaʻahumanu Avenue.

An estimated 3,000 people participated in the 98th Maui County Fair Parade as thousands more watched the parade unfold along Kaʻahumanu Avenue. The parade kicked off the four-day event at War Memorial Stadium Complex, which returns to the Valley Isle after a six year hiatus.

Thousands of fair goers spent the weekend exploring the grounds of the 97th Maui Fair, which offered four days of family fun and entertainment at the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku.

The Maui Fair is accepting entries for both its livestock and poultry exhibit and its hobbies and crafts exhibit for the upcoming 2014 Fab Fair that runs from October 2 to 5, 2014.

Preparations are now underway for the 92nd Maui Fair, and applications are now available to participate in the opening day parade. The deadline to apply is Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 by 2 p.m.
Maui Fair Wraps With Attendance Up 1.5% in 2013
The increase was attributed in part to the wider variety of food and entertainment, as well as new attractions that debuted during this year’s four-day event that ran from Oct. 3 to 6, 2013.

Attendance at the 91st Maui Fair is up so far after preliminary gate totals were tallied from opening night on Thursday. Maui Fair Managing Director Sherri Grimes said paid admission was up by about 1.8% from previous year totals.
