The first public school commencement on Maui is this coming Sunday, May 18, at War Memorial Stadium for Maui High School; followed by HP Baldwin High School on Monday, May 19; King Kekaulike High at Nā Aliʻi Stadium on Thursday, May 22; and Molokaʻi High School at the Molokaʻi High Gymnasium (The Barn) on Friday, May 23. Next weekend, Lānaʻi and Hāna host graduations on Saturday, May 24. The final public school graduation on Maui is at Lahainaluna High School on Sunday, May 25.

The Hawai‘i State Department of Education has announced graduation ceremony dates, times and locations for the Class of 2025.  

A Project Graduation 2024 informational meeting will be held virtually at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30, for interested Maui County public and private high schools.

War Memorial Complex facilities will be closed to the general public on May 21 and May 22 for graduation ceremonies hosted by Baldwin and Maui high schools, the Department of Parks and Recreation announced.

Public high schools across Maui today announced the dates, times and formats of their respective alternative graduation ceremonies.

Established in 2011, the Sustainable Science Management Program is one of three bachelor’s degree programs currently offered at UHMC.

Ceremonies run throughout the month of May with more than 11,000 students anticipated to be walking in this year’s ceremonies.

The purpose of the party is to keep students safe and off the streets after graduation and and to honor the occasion with a night of activities, food, entertainment, a chance to win prizes and to create special memories.

King Kekaulike High School seniors are asked to register now for Project GradNite. The goal of Project GradNite is to keep King Kekaulike’s graduating class safe as they celebrate the beginning of the next phase of their lives after the commencement ceremony on May 19, 2016.

$41,000 in Maui County funding has been made available for Project Graduation programs for 2016 high school graduating classes in an effort to promote alcohol- and drug-free graduation celebrations.

King Kekaualike High School Project Grad 2016 organizers would like to remind parents and students that KKHS Project Grad early registration and payment of $90 is due by Nov. 2. After that date, the fee is $100. Student may pick up the forms at the school office, or at Miss Kihara’s or Mr. Arakawa’s classrooms. Drop the filled-out forms at Mrs. Frerking’s office.

Here on Maui, the commencement season begins with a May 22 ceremony for Kīhei Charter School.

MECO is asking the public to take measures to prevent the balloons from being released, saying power outages can occur when the items become entangled in power lines.

The students were among 569 who completed degrees and certificates at UHMC in the spring semester, and among 8,000 students who earned degrees and certificates across the 10 campus system, school officials said.

Here on Maui, the first graduation ceremony will be for students at King Kekaulike High School at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at the School Stadium. The Maui events wrap up with a graduation for Kīhei Charter School on May 24 at 5 p.m. at the Wailea Marriott, Kahoʻolawe Lawn.

In addition to the inconvenience of a power outage, metallic balloons entangled in overhead power lines also pose a safety hazard to electrical crews who need to remove them to restore the power, said MECO officials.
