During his closing argument, Rivera noted that there wasn’t much physical evidence that was left of Scott, but asked jurors to look at the inconsistencies in Capobianco’s account and consider the forensic evidence that exists.

Lincoln had interviewed the defendant within days of the disappearance and said there were “quite a few” details that she learned from that initial phone call.

“With rotted flesh, yes, I believed with her clothes and empty rolls of masking tape, I believed she was dead, but I’m not a scientist or anything like that,” said Wirth.

The Capobianco murder trial entered it’s eighth day on Monday with lead detective Wendell Loo still being cross-examined by the defense team.

Day seven of the Steven Capobianco murder trial was recessed after a few hours yesterday due to a “discovery issue.”
