#Maui Memorial Day

County of Maui offices, facilities and services will be closed or modified on Monday, May 25, 2026, for Memorial Day.

As part of this year’s Memorial Day Ceremony, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters released fragrant flowers over veterans’ graves at Makawao Veterans Cemetery during a flower drop tribute. Attendees included Maui County Veterans and their families.

A Veterans Memorial Service will included in the activities on Saturday, May 23, at the 46th Annual Barrio Fiesta at the War Memorial Soccer Field. The Barrio Fiesta begins on Friday evening at 5 p.m.

Retirees and volunteers from the Kaunoa Senior Center began gathering flowers yesterday as they prepare to join the public in stringing some 2,500 lei to be placed on the graves of veterans for Memorial Day.

It’s a three-day weekend honoring the country’s fallen veterans for Memorial Day with plenty of events planned island-wide.
