#maui motorcycle crash

The Hawaiʻi State Department of Transportation reported that 13 individuals have died on state roadways while operating a motorcycle, motor scooter or moped since the beginning of 2023. At this time last year, there were eight fatalities of this nature recorded.  

A motorcyclist was critically injured in an evening crash on North Kīhei Road on Sunday night when the operator collided into the side of a pick-up truck that was backing into the southbound lane of travel.

Police say the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, crossed left of center and collided into a utility pole located on the opposing shoulder of Lower Kula Road.

A Maui motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in a roll-over crash at around 10:22 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. The incident was reported on Kauna Lipo Drive at the intersection of Maka Hou Loop in Wailuku.

According to police reports, Naehu was traveling east on Kamehameha V Highway at around 4:57 p.m., on Saturday, June 23, 2012, when the accident occurred in an area east of Kaunakakai.

According to police reports, the man who was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle, appeared to have failed to negotiate turn, struck a median, and then crashed into a tree. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
