The County of Maui Office on Aging is seeking nominations for the 56th Annual Outstanding Older American Male and Female of Maui County. The deadline to submit nominations is 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025.

The Maui County Office on Aging invites the community to attend the Abilities Resource Fair on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center in Kahului. 

The County of Maui Office on Aging, in partnership with Maui Economic Opportunity Inc., invites vendors to participate in the 51st Annual Senior Fair, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Maui Mall Village in Kahului. The deadline for vendor application submissions is Monday, Sept. 23, 2024.

The county’s Office on Aging in Wailuku will be closed to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, for the 54th Maui County Outstanding Older American Recognition Awards event. It will reopen from 2 to 4:30 p.m. that day.

The Maui Department of Public Works will undergo a shift in leadership as director, Rowena Dagdag-Andaya steps down and takes on a new position with the Office on Aging. Her position will be filled by the appointment of Jordan Molina as director and Gary Ambrose as deputy director.

The Maui County Office on Aging is offering a new free online resource for Maui seniors and kūpuna caregivers to help elderly residents stay active and maintain independence.  

Older adults in Maui County have been celebrated for their contributions and achievements every year since 1968.

More than 1,800 seniors, caregivers and families attended the 44th Annual Maui County Senior Fair held over the weekend in Wailuku.

The Maui County Office on Aging held a “Baby Shower” themed staff meeting on Monday, April 4, to benefit local nonprofit Mālama Family Recovery Center.

The County of Maui celebrates the 21st Annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day today with a proclamation signing at noon on the front lawn of the Kalana O Maui Building in Wailuku.

Staff from the department will be unavailable from 3 to 4:30 p.m., but will resume normal business on Thursday morning, Oct. 31.

Maui’s Richard Endsley and Diane Logsdon were honored with the distinction of “Outstanding Older American” in an annual awards presentation hosted by the County of Maui.

Among those voicing support for the bill were officials from the Maui County Office on Aging, Representatives on Maui, and respective authorities in other neighbor island communities.

The six-week “Better Choices…Better Health” session is hosted by the County of Maui Department of Housing and Human Concerns, Office on Aging. The workshop provides practical information, tools and support to people of all ages who wish to incorporate healthier habits into their lifestyle.

The Protect, Detect, Report series will focus on informing Medicare card holders on what to do if their card is stolen, who to call if fraud occurs, and how to protect their card from future thefts.

The session runs from 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, at the Hale Mahaolu Elima Community room in Kahului.

The six-week health management workshop, offered by the County of Maui Office on Aging, begins on September 15, 2011 at the Hale Pomaika’i.

A six-week program on Living with Arthritis is being offered to the people of Maui in July.

Rugg and Crowe were chosen for the award, because of their long history of volunteering and providing community support.
