The DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation has closed the public loading dock at the Maunalua Bay boat ramp in east O‘ahu.

The 32-mile SUP race starts on Kaluakoi Beach on the north shore of Moloka’i and finishes in Maunalua Bay on the south shore of O’ahu.

A $250 fine was imposed upon a defendant who was apprehended for using an illegal throw net to catch oama. At times, especially during high tides and periods of high surf, the vegetation made up of primarily naupaka and beach heliotropes, completely prohibits people from accessing the beach.
