King Kekaulike High School claimed both the boys and girls Maui Interscholastic League surfing championships Saturday, winning the fourth and final team event of the season at Hoʻokipa Beach Park.

It’s championship week for Maui Interscholastic League track and field athletes, which means fans of the sport will get one last opportunity to see some of the state’s most talented boys compete in their respective specialties, while enjoying the much-anticipated girls duel between Baldwin and Seabury Hall.

The Seabury Hall girls track team — and arguably the state’s best 1-2 tandem in the history of track and field in Hawaii — capped the 2014 Maui Interscholastic League season with a bang Saturday at the Yamamoto Track & Field Facility.

The Seabury Hall girls track team had just won its second Maui Interscholastic League championship in three years with a school-record 150 points.

Late in the game Thursday night, King Kekaulike High School boys basketball coach Bill Naylor called a timeout to recalibrate the ball-handling duties.
