Bo Pardau won the grand prize in the National Wildlife Federation photo contest with this image of a 2-inch-long cystisoma amphipod, in waters about 3 miles off the Kona Coastline in March 2024. The National Wildlife Federation photo contest judged images from 3,200 photographers.
