Maui Humane Society dog kennels are over capacity, “SOS fosters” needed

The Maui Humane Society has kennel capacity for 40 dogs, but the shelter is currently caring for 67, not including the 32 currently in foster homes.

Maui Humane Society Kicks Off “Empty the Shelters” Event

Maui Humane Society kicked off BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelter’s adoption event yesterday, which runs through July 10. “We adopted out 2 dogs, 5 kittens and a guinea pig today, a great start! Still, LOTS of animals need a home!” said Director of Development & Marketing Jenny Miller after the event’s first day of launch.

Reduced Adoption Fees at Maui Humane Society, July 7-10

The Maui Humane Society will be participating in the BISSELL Pet Foundation Summer 2021 “Empty the Shelters” adoption event, offering reduced adoption fees ranging from $0 to $25 per animal from July 7 through July 11.

The number of animals surrendered and found stray on Maui have “multiplied exponentially” over the course of a month, resulting in critical capacity at the Maui Humane Society.
