County Department of Parks and Recreation recruiting for pool guard trainees

The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation is recruiting pool guard trainees as part of an initiative to provide future water safety professionals with the skills, knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences for all swimmers.

Temporary closures planned for Central Maui, Kīhei pools

The Kīhei Aquatic Center training pool and Kōkua Pool in Kahului will be closed for deep cleaning of the pools’ surfaces from Nov. 24, 2024 to Dec.1, 2024. Coach Soichi Sakamoto Pool in Wailuku will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, for physical swim testing for the recruitment of pool guard trainees.

Pool guard recruitment test to result in Sakamoto Pool half day closure, Sept. 16

The County of Maui will hold a one-stop recruitment day Jan. 29, 2020, for pool guard trainees at the Kīhei Aquatic Center to fill positions within the Department of Parks and Recreation.
