Health department issues red placard to Wailuku restaurant for pest infestation

A Wailuku restaurant is the latest to receive a red placard from the Hawaiʻi Department of Health’s Maui Food Safety Branch following a complaint inspection conducted April 4, 2024 for an apparent cockroach infestation.

Wailuku restaurant allowed to reopen under Conditional Pass

The Hawai‘i Department of Health’s Maui Food Safety Branch issued a yellow “Conditional Pass” placard to a Wailuku restaurant on Tuesday, allowing the establishment to reopen to the public. A follow-up inspection is scheduled for Dec. 7.

Update/Open: Food Safety Branch issues red “closed” placard to gas station business in Kahului

The Hawai‘i Department of Health Food Safety Branch issued a green “Pass” placard to Port Town Texaco during a follow-up inspection on Aug. 7, 2023, allowing the establishment to reopen.

The Hawai‘i Department of Health issued a red “Closed” placard to Café Mambo to protect public health. The restaurant, owned and operated by Betham Pacific LLC, is located at 30 Baldwin Avenue in Pā‘ia. 

Red “Closed” Placard Issued to Paddlers Restaurant and Bar in Kaunakakai

The Hawai‘i Department of Health Sanitation Branch has posted a red “Closed” placard at Paddlers Restaurant and Bar located at 10 Mohala Street in Kaunakakai for alleged pest infestation and maintenance issues.
