Despite challenging weather conditions including strong winds and rain, the 2026 Maui Ride of Silence brought together riders, community leaders, advocates, public agencies, and volunteers on Saturday, May 23, to honor cyclists lost on Maui’s roads and raise awareness for safer streets for all.

The Maui Bicycling League invites the community to participate in the 2026 Maui Ride of Silence on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 8:45 a.m. beginning at the Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum in Puʻunēnē.

Update: Bicyclist succumbs to injuries from vehicle crash in Kīhei

Update: On Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at approximately 4 p.m., the bicyclist succumbed to his injuries and died while at Maui Memorial Medical Center. The bicyclist is identified as Richard Holland, 79, of Kīhei.
