Operation Keiki Shield on Maui nets nine arrests
The joint Operation Keiki Shield 17 law enforcement operation netted nine arrests on the island of Maui over a three day effort conducted Friday April 14 through Sunday, April 16, 2023. Two of the individuals identified were non-US citizens from the mainland.
Police say the individuals were arrested on charges related to internet-facilitated sexual offenses against children. All individuasl were being held on $100,000 bail each.
Former Maui police officer pleads guilty to attempted child enticement charge
Former Maui police officer, Brandon Charles Saffeels, 37, pleaded guilty today in the US District Court to attempted child enticement.

Glen T. Meyers, Sr., Theodore A. Haudenshild, James Kula, III, Sheldon B. Collier, and Kenneth Scott Char have been charged and bench warrants have been issued.

Attorney General Doug Chin announced that the Department of the Attorney General has charged Calvin Kuahiwinui, Jarvis Pilago II, Robert Caspino, Travis Baqui, and Troy Pacheco with failure to comply with covered offender registration requirements. Authorities in Hawaii apprehended a man wanted on an out of state arrest warrant for alleged sex crimes against a juvenile.
