Hawai‘i State & County Employees Must Provide Proof of Vaccination, or Undergo Regular COVID-19 Testing
Governor David Ige today issued a 22nd emergency proclamation related to COVID-19 in Hawaiʻi that effectively requires all state and county employees to provide their vaccination status to their department, office or agency. If they cannot provide proof of vaccination by Aug. 16, they will be subject to regular COVID-19 testing.
Aug. 5, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 655 Cases, Highest Single Day on Record
The state Department of Health reports that there were 655 additional COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i on Thursday, the single highest day on record in the state since the pandemic began. The confirmed cases included: 422 on O‘ahu (+6 probable); 121 on Hawai‘i Island (+10 probable); 52 on Maui (+17 probable); seven on Kaua‘i; and 20 in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state.
