#wailuku brush fire

A brush fire burned approximately 1/4 acre along Mahalani Street in Wailuku near the Maui Memorial Medical Center. Crews battled the fire under windy conditions with gusty trades blowing at 10-20 mph.

The fire was reported behind 1831 and 1843 Wili Pā Loop at around 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 17, 2020.  Crews contained the fire by 10:40 p.m. and had the fire extinguished by 11:41 p.m.  

Maui fire crews responded to a brush fire in Wailuku that burned about four acres of brush off of Kahekili Highway at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.

Firefighters found a 50 foot by 150 foot strip of brush burning on an old plantation road about a quarter-mile in from Kahekili Highway.

The first burned an 800 square-foot area of brush in Wailuku. The brush fire was reported at 9:09 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2012, along the Kahekili Highway near Makaala Drive in the macadamia nut fields.

Maui firefighters were dispatched Sunday night to a brush fire located on the steep embankment across the street from St. Anthony School in Wailuku.
