BREAKING: 30 Acres of East Maui Coastline Protected at Makaʻalae

Hāna-based nonprofit community organization Ke Ao Hāliʻi (Save Hāna Coast), in partnership with the State of Hawaiʻi, County of Maui, and Hawai‘i Land Trust, announce the purchase and protection of more than 30 acres at Makaʻalae along Maui’s Hāna coast.

Maui Police Issue Visitor Education Reminders Focused on Safety

The Maui Police Department is reminding visitors of safety while on vacation. A new PSA focuses on: proper placement of valuables; water safety; and Hāna Highway tips and reminders.

Hawai‘i Land Trust Receives Donation from Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos

Amazon founder and Executive Chair, Jeff Bezos has made two more personal donations to nonprofits on Maui, bringing the growing list of philanthropy on Maui for the e-commerce executive to four.  Today’s announcements include monetary donations of unspecified amounts to the Hawaiʻi Land Trust and the Mālama Family Recovery Center.

Maui Pond Named to Travel Channel’s Top 10 Swimming Holes

The network describes Waioka as a “cliff jumper’s paradise.” It is often referred to by visitors as “Venus Pool.” While it was not mentioned in the announcement, access to the area, is actually on Hāna Ranch land.
