Winds to Weaken, Rain to Increase Late in Week

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Maui County waters through 6 p.m. Monday for east winds up to 30 knots and rough seas up to 15 feet.
A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the east facing shores of Maui and Molokai through Monday at 6 p.m. Surf heights of 7 to 10 foot faces are expected.

Looking Ahead
Breezy trade winds are expected through the day Monday with fewer showers expected and winds dropping off by Monday night. The trades are forecast to strengthen back to breezy levels by Wednesday and continue into next weekend. A significant increase in moisture is expected to move over the islands from the southeast beginning on Wednesday, and then continue into next weekend, bringing increased showers which may become locally heavy.

Today mostly sunny skies are expected. Windward spots will get morning scattered showers with clearing as the day goes on. Leeward spots will be mostly sunny with just isolated showers. High temperatures from 82° to 87°. East to southeast winds are forecast from 15 to 20 mph.

East winds are expected in the evening from 15 to 20 mph. Low temperatures from 66° to 71°. Mostly cloudy skies are expected in the evening with scattered showers for windward spots. Leeward spots should be partly cloudy with isolated showers and clearing as the night goes on.
