A High Surf Warning is posted for the north and west sides of Molokai and the north shore of Maui through 6 p.m. Thursday.

    Cool, dry weather is forecast to continue through Wednesday with light winds. Gentle trade winds are expected to return during the second half of the week. An approaching front from the northwest will result in winds turning more southeast for the smaller islands over the weekend.

     

    Today

    Today we expect mostly sunny skies.  Winds are out of the northeast around 15 mph. High temperatures from 78° to 83° with clear skies and crisp conditions.

    Tonight 

    Northeast winds are expected up to 15 mph tonight. Low temperatures from 66° to 71°. Partly cloudy skies are forecast with isolated windward showers.

    Meteorologist Malika Dudley
    Malika was born and raised in Hilo. She began her career in news at KGMB9 in 2007. As a part of the Hawaii News Now weather team, Malika was nominated for two Emmy Awards for excellence in weather reporting and won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Journalism Award for her reporting on Hawaii’s tsunami damage in 2011. In 2019, Malika was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists Hawaii Chapter in the category of Science Reporting for her Big Island Now news report on what was happening beneath the sea surface at the ocean entry of the Puna lava flow.
