A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through Monday at 6:00 p.m. for the ʻAlenuihāhā channel. Rough seas from 6 to 10 feet are expected along with east winds of 20 to 25 knots. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Today
Partly cloudy skies and scattered showers are expected for the windward areas of Maui County, mainly in the afternoon. Leeward spots are forecasted to get mostly sunny skies to start with building cloud cover and scattered showers in the afternoon. Variable winds are expected up to 15 mph with high temperatures from 81° to 86° near shore and lower high temperatures at higher elevations.

Scattered showers are expected for windward areas with partly cloudy skies tonight. Leeward spots are forecasted to get mostly cloudy skies to start and clearing as the land breeze takes hold. Variable winds are expected up to 15 mph with low temperatures from 67° to 72°.
Looking Ahead
The moderate easterly trade winds we’ve been experiencing will weaken on Tuesday, leading to daytime sea breezes and scattered showers across leeward and interior sections from time to time. Trade winds are expected to rebuild on Wednesday, likely returning the focus for rainfall to windward slopes.
