NE Winds Expected to Shift South Today

A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through 6 a.m. Saturday for all Maui County windward waters and most channels.

Looking Ahead
A series of weak fronts are expected to either move across or stall near the island chain over the upcoming week, bringing varying wind and weather conditions from day to day, including periods of volcanic haze. Overall, winds will be on the lighter side and rainfall will be limited. Highest shower chances will be on Maui Monday as a front approaches. Winds may briefly become breezy Tuesday and Tuesday night in the wake of another front that brings a few showers to the whole state. This front will stall over and to the southeast of the Big Island and may bring some additional showers to the windward and southeast slopes Wednesday and Thursday.

Today we expect partly sunny skies with scattered showers. Northeast winds are expected from 10 to 15 mph shifting out of the south in the afternoon. Hazy skies are likely. High temperatures from 75° to 80°.
