Labor Day Weekend Forecast: Muggy, Hazy Conditions
Alerts (as of 1:00 a.m.)
High Surf Advisory: Through 6 p.m. Saturday for all south shores.
Special Weather Statement: Coastal flooding associated with king tides is possible over Labor Day weekend. The greatest potential is in the afternoon hours when the highest tides are expected. This coupled with an elevated south swell could compound the problem.

Looking Ahead
A front is helping to block our trade winds and winds are slowly weakening and shifting out of the south for the holiday weekend and into early next week. This means muggy conditions are in the forecast. Clouds and showers will become focused over leeward and interior spots through early next week, especially through the afternoon and early evening periods. Warm and muggy conditions will likely continue through much of next week. Volcanic haze will also be a problem for some areas starting Sunday.
Today through Monday
We expect daytime sea breezes up to 10 mph. Mostly sunny skies in the morning with partly sunny skies in the afternoon. In the afternoon clouds will build for interior and leeward areas with a slight chance of showers. Temperature up to 86° to 91°. Muggy conditions with hazy skies expected, especially on Sunday.
UV index at 12 (“extreme” exposure level)
Tonight through Monday Night
Partly cloudy skies for leeward areas with clearing skies as land breezes take hold. Low temperatures from 70° to 75°. Winds are expected to be local land breezes up to 10 mph.
