June 15, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 37 Cases (31 Confirmed, 6 Probable)

The confirmed cases included: 13 on O‘ahu (+7 probable); eight on Hawai‘i Island; five on Maui (-3 probable); two on Kaua‘i (+1 probable); and three in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state (+1 probable).

Interisland Quarantine Ends Today

Starting today, all restrictions on interisland travel are ending. Passengers traveling from O‘ahu, Maui, Kaua‘i or Hawai‘i Island will no longer be required to complete a Safe Travels profile or provide proof of a pre-travel test or vaccination when traveling to other counties within the state. This only applies to travel within the State of Hawai‘i.

One Case of “Delta” Variant Detected in Hawai‘i by State Lab

The variant was detected in a specimen from an O‘ahu resident, who traveled to Nevada in early May. The person was fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to travel and had a negative SARS-CoV-2 test prior to departing Nevada. The person developed mild symptoms consistent with COVID-19 several days after returning to Hawai‘i and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. To date, there is no evidence of household transmission or secondary cases.

June 14, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 56 Cases

The confirmed cases included: 22 on O‘ahu (-1 probable); 13 on Maui (+1 probable); seven on Kaua‘i; four on Hawai‘i Island; and 10 in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state.

O‘ahu Moves into Modified Tier 4 Allowing Larger Groups Outdoors

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi announced today he has received approval for a newly modified framework and move into an expanded Tier 4, effective immediately.

Restaurants Can Increase Capacity When Hawai‘i Vaccine Rate Reaches 60%

Governor David Ige today set additional vaccination benchmarks for gatherings and restaurants. When Hawaiʻi reaches a 60% vaccination rate, social gatherings can increase to 25 indoors and 75 outdoors; and restaurant capacity will increase to 75% (with a maximum group size of 25 indoors and 75 outdoors).
