Effective Sunday, May 22, 2022, the Maui hospital will allow one visitor per patient, per day for a maximum of two hours a day during the hours of 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Maui Health officials note that some units and/or patients may be closed to visitors at certain times.

Maui Memorial Medical Center has updated its visitor policy, effective immediately, now allowing for two visitors per patient, per day for a maximum of two hours a day. The new visitor policy is in effect between noon and 6 p.m. within most patient care areas.

Saying that masks should be a choice, about 50 to 75 people rallied in Wailuku Wednesday morning against the state Department of Education’s indoor mask mandate. The indoor mask mandate at public schools is the last remaining statewide COVID-19 rule. Hawaiʻi’s universal COVID-19 mandates, including the Safe Travels program and indoor mask requirements, were lifted March 26 for most of the population.
