Eleven people were displaced by a 2-alarm fire on Kea Street in Kahului reported at 11:16 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015. Officials say the fire resulted in total of $500,000 in damages to the structure and $100,000 in damages to the contents. The cause remains under investigation.
Maui Click-It-Or-Ticket Seat Belt Enforcement Begins May 11
The Maui Police Department will participate in a two week campaign targeting seat belt violations starting on Monday, May 11, and running through Monday, May 25, 2015. The fine is $102 and will be issued to the operator of the vehicle.
