Chinese New Year Celebration at Wo Hing Museum in Lāhainā Feb. 20

The Lahaina Restoration Foundation will be presenting a full day of activities celebration the Chinese New Year on Friday, Feb. 20, at Wo Hing Museum in Lāhainā.

Annual World Whale Day Feb. 14 in Kīhei

The Pacific Whale Foundation is presenting the 35th Annual World Whale Day on Saturday, Feb. 14, with performances from Hawai‘i’s top recording artists. The show starts at 9 a.m. at Kalama Park in Kīhei beginning with the Parade of Whales along South Kīhei Road.

WMTA Whale Watch Fundraiser Set for Feb. 21

The West Maui Taxpayers Association (WMTA) is holding a whale watching fundraiser event on Feb. 21, 2015. Participants will be treated to an up-close view of the giant marine mammals at peak season aboard the Ocean Odyssey.

Maui-Born Songwriter Releases New Album

Maui-born recording artist Will Weston has emerged at the forefront of a seven-piece indie rock funk band based out of San Francisco. The Hali‘imaile native released his sophomore album, “Heart of the Order” on Jan. 29, 2015, following the successful debut of his first album in 2012 that catapulted him to some of San Francisco’s top stages.

The MACC Presents Chart-Topping Country Singer Sara Evans

Chart-topping country singer Sara Evans will be performing at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Her distinctive voiced has earned an impressive collection of awards, including video of the year by the Country Music Association for “Born to Fly,” and best female vocalist by the Academy of Country Music.

Hawai‘i Youth Symphony to Present ‘MusicAlive!’ at The MACC

Some of Hawai‘i’s finest young musicians will be sharing their extraordinary talents in Kahului on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 16 and 17, at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. The Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center started 2015 with a generous contribution for its youth program from an unusual donor. Sixteen year-old Julia Gillette made a $5,000 donation to the Center that she independently raised at a benefit event.
