Ask the Mayor: Who’s Responsible for Parking Enforcement?

There are dozens of cars parked on the grass in the park, despite NO Parking on grass signs posted every few feet. Who is supposed to be enforcing this, and why are they not?

Ask the Mayor: Is it Legal to Brew My Own Beer?

Can I brew my own beer if I don’t plan on selling it? Someone said you can’t in Maui County.

Ask the Mayor: What’s Being Done About Homeless at Haycraft Beach?

Haycraft is a county park but only consists of the parking lot, grassy area and showers. The campers who “don’t leave” are actually camping on A&B property.

Ask the Mayor: How Do I Request Safety Improvements on Makawao Avenue?

When exiting Eddie Tam Gym, the two poles obstruct the view of Makawao bound traffic. On trash days, trash receptacles further limit viewing on this incline.

Ask the Mayor: What’s The Laws on Nude Sunbathing?

“Some people have asked whether they should take a picture of the nude sunbather with their cell phones as evidence for police when they arrive…”

Ask the Mayor: How Do I Volunteer for Tropic Care?

“I read about Tropic Care. As a medical professional I’d like to offer my services to the military if they need an extra hand. Where do I go to sign up?”

Ask the Mayor: Will Eddie Tam Be Available as a Polling Place?

“I saw recently that Eddie Tam is closed for some sort of repairs from now until the Fall. What about voting?”

Ask the Mayor: What’s Being Done About Homeless at Papalaua?

What is being done to the campers without permits literally camping under our NO CAMPING signs?

Ask The Mayor: Can You Expedite the Maui Motorsports Park Renovation?

“And for the 2 million dollars (round number) there will be no running water restrooms. What gives? Can you help expedite this project?”

Ask The Mayor: What’s the Specifics on Early Morning Noise Regulations?

“I live in an area that backs up to a golf course. Six days a week the golf course groundskeepers start doing the landscaping between 5:30 and 5:45 a.m.”

Ask the Mayor: Whats Up with the Exponential Increase in Community Class Fees?

“Why are community class fees increasing 1000% and therefore hurting our keiki?  This was an extremely important budget detail carelessly overlooked.”

Ask the Mayor: How Do I Summon an Inspector in my Neighborhood?

My neighbor has his own mechanic’s shop in a residential neighborhood and I’ve told him to knock it off because there’s never any parking on our street.

Ask the Mayor: Who Can Help With Rabbit Control?

I’ve called the Humane Society, two state departments, the police and prosecutors and everyone says it’s not their problem. Is there anyone out who can help?

Ask the Mayor: Who’s the Contact for Proper Traffic Sign Placement?

Who do you contact regarding the locations of a STOP sign and whether they are in the right location?

Ask the Mayor: Why is Water Being Wasted Along Bypass?

With all of the water issues happening in West Maui, especially Launiupoko and Olowalu , what is the source for all the water that is being used for irrigating the side of the road on the new Lahaina Bypass extension. The water is being wasted.

Ask the Mayor: Are There Plans for Sidewalks on Makawao Ave?

I would like to know if there are plans to install sidewalks on Makawao Avenue. It is a really busy street and one that many children walk along to get to school.

Ask the Mayor: What Permits are Needed for a Roving Food Truck?

I currently have a fully operational food truck on Lānaʻi. Can I drive around and park in residential neighborhoods? Similar to an ice cream truck?

Ask the Mayor: Does Maui Have a Recycling Program for Green Waste?

Would it be possible for the county to make a compost making site? Sort of like a recycling program for the green waste on Maui.

Ask the Mayor: How to Stop Mainland Groups from Sending Homeless to Maui?

Are any steps being taken to stop mainland organizations from sending their homeless to Maui? Can we send these homeless away ourselves?

Ask the Mayor: What’s the Rules for Campaign Attire in the County Building?

I went to go pay my water bill recently and saw someone in the lobby of the county building with their candidate’s name on their T-shirt waiting for the elevator. Isn’t that sort of campaigning in the county building banned during election years? I find it offensive personally.
