West Maui Hui Sues Condo Over Blocked Shoreline Access

West Maui community groups Nā Papaʻi Wawae ʻUlaʻula and the West Maui Preservation Association filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against Mahinahina condominium Kuleana II alleging blocked shoreline access.

UPDATE: Power Restored to 200 Customers in East Maui

A company spokesperson said a large tree fell and pinned down a span of power lines off of Hāna Highway. During a period of gusty winds and rain at around 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, about 200 customers in parts of East Maui, including Keʻanae, Lower Nāhiku, Nāhiku Homesteads and parts of Hāna, experienced an overnight outage.
