Governor Neil Abercrombie today signed an emergency proclamation in anticipation of the arrival of Tropical Storm Ana, which is forecast to impact the state this weekend, possibly as a hurricane.

County officials are urging Maui County residents to prepare now for possible storm impacts from Ana. The Mayor advises the public should prepare in advance by getting your seven day supply of food, fueling your vehicles, securing your homes and making sure you have an evacuation plan ready.

Organization leaders say they have teams and volunteers situated on each island that are ready to go into action as needed, and are prepared to respond with community assistance on the major Hawaiian Islands.
