The visitor industry raises $69,176 for education and workforce programs
Thirty-six teams formed by hotels and hospitality businesses, in addition to Maui Hotel & Lodging Association member donors, raised a net total of $69,176 at the 29th Annual Excellence in Education Golf Tournament.
Maui Hotel & Lodging Association raises more than $72,000 for education
The 28th Annual Excellence in Education Golf Tournament presented by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits took place on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at the Wailea Golf Club Blue Course. One-hundred-forty-four players from the visitor industry, along with sponsors and donors raised $72,000 for hospitality programs, related scholarships and the Maui Junior Golf Association.

Fifty-nine Maui County nonprofits will share $1,559,449 raised during the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association’s annual Maui County Charity Walk that happened last May.
45th Maui Charity Walk raises over $1.2 million for the eighth year
The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association celebrated its 45th year of giving back to the community with the annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk on Saturday. Nearly 1,600 walkers attended the in-person event at the War Memorial Complex. Walkers finished 2.5 miles of exercise and received complimentary breakfast, treats, giveaway prizes, and local entertainment, including a performance by Tihati Productions. An impressive total of $1,235,482 was raised so far from Maui County.

Along with celebrating the appointed, MHLA also recognized the wildfire relief efforts of its members during the Annual Meeting. Maui’s visitor industry is experiencing a daily economic loss of nearly $13 million a day since the August wildfires.

44th Maui Charity Walk raises more than $1M
A total of $1,215,700 was raised so far from the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association’s Visitor Industry Charity Walk, surpassing the previous year and continuing the 7th year of breaking $1 million for Maui County’s communities.
43rd Annual Maui County Charity Walk collects close to $1M
The Grand Wailea Maui took top honors for hotel properties with $51,911 in donations received. AMP Restaurants was the business that raised the most at $10,241. Winning the award in the nonprofit category was the team at Feed My Sheep, which collected $150,000.
