The Seabury Hall boys basketball team is off to an 8-1 start as it chases the school’s first state championship in the sport. Seniors Bromo Dorn, Sebastian Peterson and Keahi Sjostrand are leading the charge.

Kamehameha Schools Maui football team will lose 17 seniors and return 11 starters who are eager to take the Warriors to the top of the mountain again.

The Maui Invitational has seen several dramatic games in the first two days of its return to the Lahaina Civic Center for first time since 2022. The championship game today at noon pits No. 4 Auburn against the University of Memphis.

The Maui Invitational has been away from the Lahaina Civic Center for three of the past four years. It returns with an impressive field next week.

Registration opens Wednesday for the County of Maui, Department of Parks and Recreation, South District 9- and 10-year-old Youth Basketball League.

The Hawaiʻi High School Athletic Association is forgoing its March 2021 state championships under their modified calendar, affecting air riflery, basketball, bowling, cheerleading, cross country, outrigger canoe paddling, soccer, swimming and diving and wrestling, which are all slated to begin Jan, 4, 2021.

The Maui Jim Maui Invitational tip-off festivities take place on Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24 for four events: the Hoops Clinic presented by HMSA, the Maui Jim Maui Golf Classic, the HMSA Sun, Surf and Hoops 5K, and An Evening with the Coaches Banquet hosted by ESPN’s Jay Bilas.

All basketball players between the ages of 8 and 17 are encouraged to sign up. There is no entry fee to enter the tournament.

The ninth-ranked Baldwin High School boys basketball team returned to Maui today with a respectable second-place finish at 42nd annual Punahou Boys Basketball Invitational.
