The US Coast Guard Captain of the Port Honolulu is scheduled to increase port heavy weather conditions for all commercial ports of Hawaiʻi, Maui, Honolulu, and Kauaʻi counties at 8 a.m. Aug. 14., due to Tropical Storm Lala.

The Coast Guard suspended its search at 7 p.m. Monday for an overdue boater west of Oʻahu. The missing 61-year-old man departed on a fishing trip early Wednesday morning and was reportedly last seen fishing near the Waiʻanae coast off the southwest side of Oʻahu.

Weems was reported missing by a concerned family member on the evening of Friday, May 8, 2026, after he failed to return from going snorkeling in the area of 100 Nohea Kai Drive in Kāʻanapali.  Weems had texted a family member at 1:30 p.m., indicating he was going snorkeling, and at approximately 3 p.m., a guest reported to hotel staff that they had observed what appeared to be a male in distress in the ocean. 

The US Coast Guard suspended its search at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for a fishing vessel crewman in the water over 1,200 miles offshore Hawaiʻi.  Missing is a 59-year-old man who reportedly fell overboard, Sunday. 

The Coast Guard and Navy medevaced an ailing cruise ship passenger 58 miles offshore of Oʻahu, Thursday. 

Missing is Matthew Kai’mana Packard-Asai, 19, who was last seen fishing on the rocks near the northern point of Kahili Beach. He is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with black hair and wearing a black hat, black shorts and black shirt. 

The Maui County Corps distributed 6,500 gifts to nearly 950 keiki and kūpuna with the help of a network of community partners and supporters. Gifts were shared with seniors living at Hale Mahaolu Elua and Hale Mahaolu Akahi in Kahului.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point hoisted a 61-year-old woman experiencing septic shock and brought her safely to Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.

The crew of the US Coast Guard Cutter Kimball offloaded approximately 18,898 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated value of more than $214.3 million, on Thursday in San Diego.   The Coast Guard Cutter Kimball is one of two legend-class national security cutters homeported in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu watchstanders received a notification at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Hawaiʻi Department of Health, requesting transport for a 44-year-old patient who was experiencing a severe abdominal condition.

The US Coast Guard completed the medevac of a 52-year-old man from Midway Atoll Thursday.  Coast Guard Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu watchstanders received notification from US Fish and Wildlife personnel at 10 a.m. Tuesday that a contractor fell from a roof and injured his ankle.

The Coast Guard rescued five adults after their vessel capsized outside Nāwiliwili Harbor in Līhuʻe, Kauaʻi, Tuesday.  

The Coast Guard medevaced an ailing woman from a cruise ship 70 miles offshore Oʻahu Tuesday. 

The 11-person yacht crew, who reported a locked rudder and flooding in the bilge, is being assisted by the Oliver Henry’s crew with dewatering and damage control as they head for Palau. Their estimated time of arrival is 33 hours.
