With the rebuilding of homes underway and the commercial cleanup nearly finished, businesses say the timing is crucial to rebuild and provide jobs for returning residents.

Hua Momona Foundation has announced its musical lineup for the inaugural Maui Music & Food Experience, taking place from Sept. 5-7, 2024. The event will feature a host of acclaimed musicians, including special guest Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac. This multi-night celebration of music and culinary arts will raise crucial funding for food, housing and mental health support for survivors of the August 2023 Lahaina fire.

An elegant and impactful, new, coffee-table book titled MĀLAMA MAUI: Music Photography from Lahaina, has just been released. One hundred percent of the profits from sales of the book will be donated to the Maui United Way Fire Disaster Relief Fund.

Mick Fleetwood, legendary drummer and co-founding member of the iconic band, Fleetwood Mac, announces the reopening of his Fleetwood’s on Front Street restaurant Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020. The West Maui eatery transitioned to a temporary closure amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but is preparing to reopen.

A Lahaina Strong Benefit Concert is will be held this Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 for families affected by the recent fires in West Maui. 

The Traveling Plate, a statewide culinary tour to benefit Easterseals Hawai‘i, will host a culinary event in Kīhei on Sunday, Aug. 26 with a fun new twist.

Maui restaurants included on the list are: The Mill House in Waikapū, Mama’s Fish House in Pāʻia, Leilani’s on the Beach in Kāʻanapali; Kimo’s Restaurant Maui, the Hula Grill Kāʻanapali, Fleetwoods on Front Street and Duke’s Beach House Maui in Lahaina.

An estimated $15,000 was raised during a recent benefit concert at Fleetwood’s on Front St. to assist Maui musician Willie K in his battle against lung cancer.

From June 4 to 11, some local bars and restaurants will mix classic Negroni cocktails and Negroni variations for a great cause, as part of a worldwide event.

Fleetwood’s on Front Street has raised around $5,600 for Easter Seals Hawai‘i, due in large part to its “Light it Up Blue” night on Saturday, April 2.
