Haleakalā National Park Reopens After Storm

The Summit and Kīpahulu Districts of Haleakalā National Park are now open as of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021. 

Haleakalā National Park Phases in More Trail Openings, Still No Sunrise Viewing

The National Park Service today announced that it will implement another phased increasing in public access to Haleakalā National Park, with certain areas open and accessible daily between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., starting today.   

Increased Public Access in Haleakalā National Park to Begin Wednesday

The National Park Service today announced that it will begin increasing public access to Haleakalā National Park on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. Sunrise or sunset viewing is not available at this time.

Haleakalā Resumes Services Amid New Resolution

All park interpretive and educational programs are offered. Online reservations for the sunrise at the summit of Haleakalā are required 3 a.m. to 7 a.m.

Haleakalā Reopens, Visitor Center Without Power

While the park reports no significant damage from Tropical Cyclone Ana, the summit visitor center at the 9,740 foot elevation remained without power on Sunday morning.
