Intergenerational community stories shape new pop-up performance in Wailuku

Maui Public Art Corps is developing a new pop-up performance rooted in intergenerational community storytelling through Hui Mo‘olelo, its signature public art and storytelling program created in partnership with the County of Maui and Cultural Consultant Sissy Lake-Farm.

Water Shutdown In Wailuku, Jan. 26

MIRA Image Construction will be performing work on the County’s water system, resulting in a shutdown of water service for a portion of Wailuku on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021.

Maui police have closed North Market Street in Happy Valley near Kahawai Street due to a dirtbike accident at the bridge.

11-Year-Old Boy Swept into Wailuku River Rescued, Unharmed

Crews got the call at 3:23 p.m. and responded to a young boy that was reported to be stranded on an island in the Wailuku River (ʻĪao Stream), near Sack-n-Save in Paukūkalo.

Teen Injured in Dive at Mokuhau Pond

Rescue crews responded to a report of an 18-year-old male who reportedly sustained a head injury while diving into a pond at Mokuhau in Happy Valley.

Habitat for Humanity Proposes Construction of Kahawai Condos

Habitat for Humanity Maui is proposing the development of a 16 unit condominium building in Wailuku near Happy Valley. The three-story Hale Kahawai Condominium is planned for location at 2024 Kahawai Street along ‘Iao Stream.
